As a Trade Assistant at TRS®, you will be responsible for a range of general labouring duties, including on-the-job training in electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs both in the workshop and on customer sites. Your primary responsibility will be to assist experienced technicians with various tasks, such as dismantling, cleaning and assessing the condition of equipment for repair, and cleaning and preparing equipment for mechanical repair and/or rewind. You will also assist in carrying out or managing the replacement or repair of bearing surfaces, mechanical parts, and insulation material.
The role will involve working under the supervision of experienced technicians and following company policy, procedures, and training regimes. You will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to working in a safe manner, with attention to detail and a willingness to learn. The company will provide on-the-job training to help you develop your skills and build a career in the industry, with the aim of progressing to an apprenticeship.
The position is full-time (40 hours per week) with the potential to earn a competitive hourly rate, along with allowances such as tool allowance, on-call allowance, and overnight allowance.
